Nissan Micra K11 CG “Shorty” Exhaust Manifold

The GizFab CG “Shorty” Exhaust Manifold was originally developed specifically for Nissan CG engine conversions in classic Austin Minis, where available space around the engine, body and subframe can be extremely limited.

Its compact 4-into-1 configuration keeps the manifold package as short and compact as possible, providing generous clearance and making it suitable for use with most common Mini subframe configurations.

Manufactured using 38mm (1.5") primary tubing, merging into a 51mm (2") collector, the manifold also incorporates an exhaust flexi-section before terminating in a simple 2" slip-fit outlet ready for connection to a custom exhaust system.

Each manifold is precision TIG welded and fully back-purged during manufacture.

Developed for CG-Swapped Classic Minis

Installing a Nissan CG-series engine into a classic Mini creates a number of packaging challenges, particularly around the exhaust side of the engine.

The Shorty Manifold was developed specifically to address this.

Rather than using the longer layout of a conventional K11 performance manifold, the four primary pipes merge into a compact 4-into-1 collector, keeping the overall manifold package short and providing additional space around the surrounding subframe and engine bay.

This makes it particularly suited to conversions where clearance is more important than trying to accommodate a conventional full-length K11 exhaust manifold.

Compact 4-Into-1 Design

The four 38mm (1.5") primary pipes merge into a single 51mm (2") collector.

A 4-into-1 layout allows us to package the collector close to the engine, helping achieve the compact dimensions required for engine conversions where available space is limited.

The Shorty is therefore primarily a packaging-focused manifold for engine conversions, rather than simply a shortened version of our conventional K11 performance manifold.

TIG-Welded & Back-Purged

Each manifold is precision TIG welded during manufacture.

The tubing is also fully back-purged while welding, shielding the inside of the tube from atmospheric oxygen and helping prevent heavy oxidation and contamination on the internal surface of the weld.

This produces cleaner internal welds and avoids unnecessary obstruction within the exhaust gas path.

Integrated Flexi-Section

An exhaust flexi-section is incorporated into the manifold assembly.

This provides a degree of isolation between engine movement and the remainder of the exhaust system, helping reduce the amount of movement and stress transferred directly into the manifold and downstream exhaust components.

Correct engine mounting and adequate exhaust support are still essential. A flexi-section cannot compensate for excessive engine movement, poorly positioned exhaust mounts or an incorrectly fabricated exhaust system.

2" Slip-Fit Outlet

The manifold terminates with a 2" slip-fit connection designed to accept 2" exhaust tubing.

The connecting exhaust tube slides into the manifold outlet and should then be secured using a suitable exhaust clamp.

This arrangement makes it straightforward for the installer or fabricator to construct a custom exhaust system around the individual engine conversion.

⚠️ IMPORTANT - NISSAN MICRA K11 FITMENT

The Shorty Manifold will physically fit Nissan Micra K11 models equipped with a compatible CG-series engine, but it is NOT supplied as a direct-fit K11 exhaust manifold system.

Unlike our dedicated K11 manifolds, the Shorty does not include the link pipe required to connect it directly to the remainder of the Micra exhaust system.

Installing one on a K11 will therefore require:

• Appropriate Exhaust Mounting

If you require a straightforward bolt-on performance manifold for a conventional K11 installation, one of our dedicated K11 manifold options may be more appropriate.

The installer is responsible for supplying the components required to integrate the manifold into the vehicle's exhaust system.

Professional Installation Required

Due to the custom nature of engine conversions, installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified technician or fabricator.

The exact space available can vary between engine conversions depending on the subframe, engine mounting arrangement and other components used.

Although the manifold has been designed to work with most common Mini subframe configurations, clearance cannot be guaranteed with every possible custom conversion or subframe design.

12-Month Warranty*

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic discolouration associated with exhaust temperature, corrosion resulting from external contamination or inadequate maintenance, incorrect installation, modification, impact damage, misuse, excessive engine movement, inadequate exhaust support or damage resulting from incorrectly fabricated surrounding exhaust components.

The manifold outlet must remain a slip-fit connection and be secured using a suitable exhaust clamp. Welding the downstream exhaust directly to the manifold outlet may introduce additional stress into the manifold and will void the warranty.

The warranty does not cover custom fabrication, removal/refitting costs or other third-party labour costs.
