The original Nissan rocker cover uses cross-head fasteners which, after decades of heat cycles, servicing and corrosion, can become increasingly unpleasant to remove.

Installation

Install the bolts evenly and tighten to the appropriate specification for the rocker cover.

Do not overtighten.

The rocker cover is not a structural component and excessive tightening can damage the cover, threads or sealing arrangement.

If the rocker cover is being removed at the same time, we recommend inspecting the gasket and replacing it where necessary.
