Secure Manifold Fitment

Correct manifold clamping is important for maintaining a reliable seal between the cylinder head, exhaust manifold and gasket.

Fresh hardware helps provide consistent fastening during installation, although a stud and nut kit alone cannot correct warped flanges, damaged cylinder-head threads or failed exhaust gaskets.

Installation

We recommend inspecting and cleaning the cylinder-head threads before installing replacement studs.

The manifold mating surfaces should also be checked for:

• Warping
• Damage
• Corrosion
• Carbon Deposits
• Old Gasket Material

Always use a suitable new exhaust manifold gasket where required and tighten the manifold hardware evenly to the appropriate specification.

Do not overtighten.

Excessive torque can damage the studs or, more importantly, the threaded holes within the aluminium cylinder head.

The warranty does not cover corrosion resulting from abnormal environmental or chemical exposure, damaged cylinder-head threads, cross-threading, overtightening, incorrect installation, seized hardware caused by installation practices or damage resulting from excessive exhaust temperatures or surrounding component failure.
