The GizFab GT1752 Turbo Kit is our complete, budget-friendly hardware package for transforming the Nissan Micra K11 into a genuinely quick and entertaining turbocharged road or track car.

Built around a responsive internally gated GT1752 turbocharger, this version provides a simpler, cleaner and quieter installation than our externally gated Screamer package while retaining all the important hardware required to form the foundations of a properly engineered turbo conversion.

Every kit is designed and developed around our own K11 development vehicles, with the major components physically test-fitted before the kit is packaged and shipped.

These components must be selected around the specification and intended power level of the individual vehicle.

Internally Gated - What's the Difference?

Unlike our GT1752 Screamer Kit, this version uses the turbocharger's internal wastegate to control boost.

This eliminates the separate external wastegate and atmospheric screamer arrangement.

For many road cars, this provides several advantages:

  • No Atmospheric Screamer Pipe
  • More Discreet / OEM-Style Appearance
  • Ideal for Fast-Road Builds

If you specifically want the aggressive noise and dedicated boost-control arrangement of an external wastegate, our GT1752 Screamer Kit is the better option.

If you want a clean, responsive turbo K11 without announcing every time the wastegate opens, this is probably the one for you.

Engine Compatibility

The kit has been designed for:

  • 1.0L CG10DE
  • 1.3L CG13DE
  • 1.4L CGA3DE

Compatible with both:

  • Distributor / Dizzy Engines
  • Coil Pack Engines

With K11s now being several decades old, engine and loom swaps are increasingly common. We recommend confirming the actual engine and ignition configuration rather than relying solely on registration year.

Which Engine is Best?

Our personal preference for turbo builds has traditionally been the earlier Distributor CG10DE and CG13DE engines.

We've had excellent results with these engines, and their relatively simple configuration makes them a good foundation for a turbo conversion.

However, there is no substitute for displacement.

The larger CG13DE and CGA3DE will naturally tend to produce more torque for a comparable setup.

That doesn't make the 998cc CG10DE a bad choice.

Far from it.

The humble 1.0 remains one of the most popular engines to turbocharge because they're readily available, relatively inexpensive and capable of completely transforming the character of the K11 when combined with a sensible turbo setup and good calibration.

Engine Condition Matters

These engines are now old enough that condition matters considerably more than the badge on the boot.

A healthy 1.0 is a much better foundation than a tired 1.3 or 1.4.

Before turbocharging any CG engine, we recommend checking its mechanical health.

Depending on the build, this may include:

Adding boost to an unhealthy engine generally just helps you find the existing problem considerably faster.

What Power Can I Expect?

There is no single guaranteed power figure from a turbo kit.

Final output depends on:

However, as a real-world reference, our development setups have produced:

CG10DE 998cc

145 HP @ 1.0 Bar

CG13DE 1275cc

158 HP @ 1.0 Bar

These figures were achieved using deliberately conservative calibrations with reliability prioritised over chasing the largest possible dyno number.

Higher outputs may be achievable with suitable supporting modifications, but these figures should not be interpreted as a guaranteed safe power level for every standard CG engine.

Every engine is different.

GT1752 Turbocharger

The GT1752 provides a responsive and cost-effective turbocharger option that works particularly well with the relatively small-capacity CG engines.

Rather than selecting a large turbocharger purely around a headline horsepower figure, the GT1752 package is intended to provide a responsive and enjoyable setup.

For a road-going K11, response and usable torque can be every bit as important as maximum power.

Internal Wastegate

Boost is controlled using the turbocharger's integrated wastegate arrangement.

This provides a compact solution without requiring a separate external wastegate, screamer pipe and associated plumbing.

Final boost pressure and control strategy must still be correctly configured as part of the complete installation and ECU calibration.

3D-Printed Turbo Log Manifold

The turbocharger is mounted using our compact 3D-printed turbo log manifold.

Additive manufacturing allows us to create internal geometry and packaging that would be difficult to reproduce using a basic fabricated log manifold while keeping the overall package compact enough for the K11 engine bay.

The result is a cost-effective manifold specifically developed around this turbo package.

Custom Front-Mount Intercooler

The kit includes a custom intercooler featuring 3D-printed end tanks, together with the required intercooler pipework.

Compressing air generates heat.

The intercooler helps remove heat from the compressed charge air before it enters the engine, providing a denser intake charge and helping increase resistance to detonation.

Correct installation and unobstructed airflow remain important to the performance of the system.

Turbo Oil Feed & Return

The required turbo oil feed and drain components are included.

We also supply a brand-new modified sump with a dedicated turbo oil return, removing the need for the customer to modify their existing sump.

Correct oil drain routing is critical to turbocharger reliability.

The return should provide a suitable gravity-assisted path back into the sump without unnecessary restrictions, sharp bends or uphill sections.

Will it Fit a K11 with Factory Air Conditioning?

STANDARD MAIL-ORDER KIT: NO.

Due to the limited space around the factory A/C compressor, the standard mail-order kit is not suitable for K11s retaining factory air conditioning.

A/C-compatible setups need to be custom-built around the individual vehicle at our workshop.

If retaining air conditioning is essential, please contact us before ordering.

Do I Need to Bring My Car to GizFab?

No.

The standard kit is designed as a mail-order package, with the major components test-fitted on our development vehicle before shipping.

You only need to bring the vehicle to us if:

  • You want us to install the kit.
  • You require a custom installation.
  • You need an A/C-compatible setup.

Can I Use the Factory ECU?

No - suitable aftermarket engine management is required.

Turbocharging substantially changes the amount of air entering the engine.

Correct control over both fuel delivery and ignition timing under boost is critical.

Operating a turbocharged engine under load without suitable engine management and calibration can result in:

  • Lean Air/Fuel Ratios
  • Detonation / Knock
  • Excessive Exhaust Gas Temperature
  • Piston Damage
  • Ringland Failure
  • Head Gasket Failure
  • Complete Engine Failure

Do not operate the vehicle under boost until the ECU has been correctly configured and professionally calibrated.

Which ECU Do We Recommend?

Our preferred system is the Haltech Elite 1500.

It's the ECU platform we know, use and have extensive experience with on turbocharged K11s.

For Distributor-equipped engines, a suitable plug-and-play arrangement is available, considerably simplifying installation compared with building an entire standalone loom from scratch.

Other standalone ECUs can absolutely be used.

Ultimately, the most important factor is choosing a capable ECU that your tuner understands and can properly configure for the vehicle.

What About Fuel Injectors?

Larger injectors are required.

More air requires more fuel.

The original injectors were never designed to support the airflow requirements of a turbocharged engine at these power levels.

Coil Pack Engines

Later Coil Pack engines use a top-feed fuel rail arrangement that makes injector upgrades relatively straightforward.

Suitable 14mm top-feed injectors can be used subject to the correct physical dimensions, electrical connectors, fuel system arrangement and calibration data.

We've successfully used suitable Bosch 550cc injectors in these applications.

Injector selection should ultimately be based on required fuel flow and intended power rather than simply copying another vehicle's setup.

Distributor Engines

Distributor engines use a side-feed injector arrangement, making upgrade options more restrictive.

A suitable larger side-feed injector arrangement or alternative fuel rail conversion will therefore be required.

Whatever solution is used, the injectors must be correctly configured within the standalone ECU.

Do I Need a Fuel Pump?

We strongly recommend fitting a new high-flow fuel pump.

Many original K11 pumps are now more than two decades old.

A pump that was perfectly adequate for a standard naturally aspirated Micra may struggle to maintain the required fuel pressure and flow when asked to support a turbocharged engine.

If fuel pressure falls under boost, the engine can rapidly run lean.

A lean condition under boost can cause catastrophic engine damage.

For that reason, we consider a healthy, appropriately sized fuel pump cheap insurance.

Is it Difficult to Install?

The conversion is suitable for somebody with good mechanical knowledge and experience working on modified vehicles.

You should be comfortable working with:

  • Intercooler Installation
  • Intake & Boost Pipework
  • Fuel System Modifications

Engine management installation and calibration should be carried out by somebody suitably experienced.

Depending on the vehicle and jurisdiction, the conversion may affect:

It is the vehicle owner's responsibility to ensure that the completed conversion complies with all applicable requirements.

12-Month Warranty*

GizFab Motorsport Developments manufactured components within this kit are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

Third-party components, including the turbocharger, remain subject to their respective manufacturer's applicable warranty terms.

The warranty does not cover engine failure, turbocharger failure caused by inadequate oil supply or drain, incorrect installation, inadequate fuel supply, detonation, incorrect ECU calibration, excessive exhaust temperature, overboost, misuse, physical damage or failure caused by surrounding components.

No warranty is provided against a particular horsepower, torque or boost figure.

Engine failure resulting from increased power, boost pressure or incorrect calibration is not considered a manufacturing defect within the turbo kit.
