Nissan Micra K11 Chassis Mounted Short Shifter

Developed by GizFab for the Nissan Micra K11, our Chassis Mounted Short Shifter provides a significantly more direct and precise gear change with excellent mechanical feedback.

Unlike the factory arrangement, the shifter assembly is mounted directly to the vehicle chassis and removes the requirement for the original gear linkage stabiliser bar, creating a much more purposeful gear change ideally suited to motorsport and competition applications.

Chassis Mounted Design

The factory K11 gear selector is supported as part of the original linkage arrangement, including the stabiliser bar running between the linkage and drivetrain.

Our design takes a different approach by mounting the shifter assembly directly to the chassis.

This provides a solid and positive mounting point for the gear lever, helping produce the direct mechanical feel expected from a motorsport-style shifter.

The result is a considerably more purposeful gear change with improved feedback through the lever.

Short Shifter Included

Unlike a mounting plate designed around a separately purchased shifter, the actual short shifter is included with the kit.

The shifter is available in:

Anodised Black Only

The mounting plate is CNC machined from billet aluminium before receiving a matching black anodised finish.

No Modification to the Existing Gear Linkage

Installation does not require the factory gear linkage to be cut, shortened or permanently modified.

This makes installation considerably cleaner than conversions requiring fabrication of the linkage itself.

However, this should not be confused with the entire installation requiring no modification whatsoever.

Weather Seals Included

Because the shifter mounts through the vehicle body, suitable weather seals are included with the kit.

These should be correctly installed to help prevent water, dirt, fumes and debris entering the passenger compartment around the shifter mounting area.

Correct sealing should always be checked following installation.

⚠️ IMPORTANT - ENGINE MOUNT BUSHINGS RECOMMENDED

This shifter removes the need for the original gear linkage stabiliser bar.

Because of this, drivetrain movement becomes considerably more important.

The engine and gearbox move relative to the chassis during acceleration, deceleration and rapid changes in throttle position.

The chassis-mounted shifter itself does not move with the drivetrain.

Excessive movement from soft or worn factory engine mounts can therefore create unwanted movement within the linkage relationship during transient throttle conditions.

For this reason:

UPRATED ENGINE MOUNT BUSHINGS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED WITH THIS SHIFTER.

Reducing drivetrain movement helps maintain a more consistent relationship between the chassis-mounted shifter and gearbox linkage.

This is particularly important during aggressive acceleration, deceleration and rapid gear changes.

Worn factory engine mounts should not be used as a substitute for properly controlling drivetrain movement.

Motorsport-Focused Gear Change

This product has been designed primarily around motorsport and competition use, where gear selection, feedback and consistency take priority over factory refinement.

Compared with the standard K11 arrangement, customers should expect:

For the best results, we recommend ensuring the complete gear linkage and drivetrain mounting system is in good condition.

Particular attention should be given to:

• Linkage Bushes & Joints
• Engine & Gearbox Mounting Hardware

A precision shifter cannot compensate for excessive wear elsewhere within the linkage or gearbox.

Professional Installation Recommended

Before installation, inspect the vehicle floor, gear linkage and surrounding mounting areas for corrosion, damage or previous modifications.

During installation:

• Trial Fit Before Trimming Interior Plastics
• Ensure the Linkage Moves Freely
• Check Clearance throughout the Full Shift Pattern
• Ensure Weather Seals are Correctly Installed
• Verify All Fasteners are Secure
• Confirm Every Gear Can Be Selected Correctly
• Check for Binding or Interference
• Recheck Hardware After Initial Use

The vehicle should not be driven if any gear cannot be selected positively or if the linkage binds during operation.

⚠️ MOTORSPORT USE RECOMMENDED

This is a motorsport-focused chassis-mounted shifter.

The reduced isolation, increased mechanical feedback, additional noise and vibration and requirement for uprated drivetrain mounting make it considerably less refinement-focused than the original Nissan gear selector arrangement.

12-Month Warranty*

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover normal wear, cosmetic deterioration, incorrect installation, incorrect interior modification, damaged or worn surrounding gear linkage components, excessive drivetrain movement caused by worn or unsuitable engine mounts, modification of supplied components, impact damage, misuse or motorsport accident damage.

Increased mechanical noise, vibration and gear shift feedback are normal characteristics of a chassis-mounted motorsport shifter and are not considered manufacturing defects.
