Nissan Micra K11 Adjustable Panhard Rod

An important suspension upgrade for lowered Nissan Micra K11s, our Adjustable Panhard Rod allows the rear axle to be correctly repositioned underneath the vehicle after changing the ride height.

Lowering a K11 changes the operating angle of the factory fixed-length Panhard rod. As the suspension moves away from its original ride height, the Panhard rod travels through an arc and can pull the complete rear axle laterally towards one side of the vehicle.

Our adjustable Panhard rod allows its effective length to be altered, enabling the rear axle to be re-centred after the vehicle has been lowered.

Why Does a Lowered K11 Need an Adjustable Panhard Rod?

The K11 rear suspension uses a Panhard rod to locate the rear axle laterally.

Because one end of the rod is attached to the chassis and the other to the axle, the axle does not move perfectly vertically as the suspension travels. Instead, it follows a slight lateral arc dictated by the length and angle of the Panhard rod.

At the factory ride height, Nissan designed the original fixed-length rod around the standard suspension position.

When the vehicle is lowered, the resting angle of the Panhard rod changes.

This can result in the rear axle sitting noticeably further towards one side of the vehicle than the other.

Correct Your Rear Axle Position

An adjustable Panhard rod allows the effective length of the rod to be changed until the rear axle is correctly centred underneath the vehicle at its new ride height.

This is particularly important on significantly lowered vehicles where axle displacement can become much more noticeable.

Symptoms of an incorrectly positioned rear axle can include:

• One Rear Wheel Sitting Further Out Than the Other
• Unequal Wheel-to-Arch Clearance
• Tyre-to-Arch Clearance Problems
• Uneven Appearance from Left to Right
• Compromised Rear Suspension Geometry

The correct adjustment should be determined from the actual position of the axle relative to the chassis, rather than simply matching the length of the original rod.

Adjustable Design

The integrated threaded adjuster allows the Panhard rod length to be altered to suit the vehicle's actual ride height.

Once the desired axle position has been achieved, the adjuster is securely locked into position.

The adjusting section features a yellow zinc-plated finish to provide improved corrosion resistance.

As with any exposed adjustable suspension component, the threads should still be periodically cleaned and maintained, particularly on vehicles exposed to water, dirt or road salt.

Polyurethane Bushed

The rod uses polyurethane bushes rather than soft factory-style rubber bushes.

The reduced compliance provides more positive lateral location of the rear axle and improved suspension feedback, making the design particularly suited to modified and performance-focused K11s.

Some increase in Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) may be experienced compared with the original rubber-bushed component.

This is a normal characteristic of uprated polyurethane suspension components.

TIG-Welded Construction

Each Panhard rod is TIG welded and finished in our signature metallic grey powder coat, providing a durable and professional finish.

The combination of powder-coated main components and yellow zinc-plated adjustment hardware provides additional protection against corrosion while retaining easy access to the adjustment mechanism.

Installation & Adjustment

This product should be installed and adjusted by a qualified technician.

The vehicle should be set to its final intended ride height before the Panhard rod is adjusted.

The rear suspension should then be allowed to settle before the axle position is measured relative to the chassis and adjusted accordingly.

It is important that the axle is centred relative to appropriate chassis reference points rather than simply comparing how far each tyre protrudes from the wheel arch, as differences in wheel offset, bodywork and previous accident repairs can affect visual measurements.

All locking hardware must be correctly tightened following adjustment.

The installation should be inspected again after the vehicle has covered a short distance to confirm that all hardware remains secure.

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover normal wear or deterioration of polyurethane bushes, corrosion resulting from inadequate maintenance, damaged or seized adjustment threads, incorrect installation or adjustment, accident or impact damage, modification, misuse or damage resulting from defective surrounding suspension components.
