Why Replace the Original Hardware?

Lowering a K11 changes the operating position of the Panhard rod, which can cause the rear axle to move laterally relative to the chassis.

An adjustable Panhard rod allows the axle to be re-centred at the vehicle's new ride height, while this hardware kit allows tired original mounting hardware to be replaced at the same time.

Installation

The Panhard rod is a suspension locating component, so installation should be carried out carefully.

Before fitting, inspect the:

• Panhard Rod Mounting Points
• Chassis Bracket
• Axle Bracket
• Panhard Rod Bushes
• Bolt Holes
• Surrounding Structure

Any significant corrosion, cracking, elongation or damage to the mounting points should be rectified before installation.

All suspension hardware should be tightened to the appropriate specification.

If an adjustable Panhard rod is being installed, the rear axle should also be correctly centred relative to the chassis at the vehicle's normal ride height.

Safety-Critical Suspension Hardware

The Panhard rod plays an important role in laterally locating the rear axle beneath the vehicle.

For this reason, its mounting hardware should always be installed correctly and periodically inspected as part of normal suspension maintenance.
