⚠️ DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN

Sump bolts require relatively little clamping force compared with larger structural engine fasteners.

Do not overtighten the stainless steel bolts.

Excessive tightening can:

• Distort the Sump Flange

• Damage the Fasteners

The sump should be installed using the appropriate gasket or sealant arrangement for the engine, with the bolts tightened evenly to the correct specification.

Installation

When removing the original sump, thoroughly clean the mating surfaces and remove all traces of old gasket material or sealant as required.

Before installing the new hardware:

• Use the Correct Gasket / Sealant
• Start All Bolts by Hand
• Tighten Evenly
• Follow the Appropriate Torque Specification

Allow any sealant used during installation to cure according to its manufacturer's instructions before filling the engine with oil.

The warranty does not cover cross-threading, overtightening, damaged engine threads, incorrect installation, modification, damage caused by incorrect tools or damage resulting from surrounding components.
