Designed and manufactured by GizFab, our Nissan Micra K11 Rear Upper Brace is a simple and effective chassis reinforcement upgrade designed to tie the rear upper shock absorber mounting points together.

The brace helps reduce unwanted movement and flex across the rear of the chassis, providing a more rigid connection between the suspension mounting points and improving overall chassis feedback.

The latest version features our adjustable and removable footplate design, allowing the main cross bar to be quickly removed while leaving the mounting plates installed on the vehicle.

Why Fit a Rear Upper Brace?

The rear shock absorber mounting points are subjected to loads as the suspension operates.

A rear upper brace creates a direct connection between the left and right upper mounting points, helping reduce relative movement across the rear of the chassis.

Increasing chassis rigidity allows the suspension to operate from a more stable platform and can provide:

The difference will depend on the overall condition and specification of the vehicle, particularly where other suspension and chassis modifications have already been fitted.

Adjustable Design

The brace features adjustable ends, allowing the assembly to be correctly positioned during installation.

The brace should be adjusted to fit naturally between its mounting points.

It should not be excessively extended or preloaded in an attempt to force the chassis apart.

Once correctly positioned, all adjustment and locking hardware should be securely tightened.

Removable Footplate Design

One of the most useful features of the latest design is the separate adjustable footplates.

The footplates install at the rear shock absorber mounting points, while the main cross bar attaches separately between them.

This means the cross bar can be removed without having to remove the footplates from the shock absorbers.

This is particularly useful where quick access to the rear of the vehicle is required.

Rather than disturbing the shock absorber mounting points every time the brace needs to come out, the main bar can simply be removed and the footplates left installed.

Full Steel Construction

The brace uses an all-steel construction for a strong and rigid connection between the rear suspension mounting points.

The complete assembly is finished in our signature dark metallic grey powder coat, providing a durable finish and matching the appearance of other GizFab chassis and suspension components.

Installation

The brace is designed as a bolt-in chassis reinforcement component.

Professional installation by a suitably qualified technician is recommended.

During installation, the condition of the rear shock absorber mounting points and surrounding bodywork should be inspected for corrosion, damage or previous repairs.

The brace should not be used to compensate for damaged or incorrectly positioned suspension mounting points.

All mounting and adjustment hardware should be correctly tightened before the vehicle is used and periodically inspected thereafter.

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic deterioration, corrosion resulting from inadequate maintenance, damaged adjustment threads, incorrect installation or adjustment, modification, accident or impact damage, misuse or damage resulting from defective or damaged surrounding chassis or suspension components.
