Nissan Micra K11 QG18DE 70A Swap Driveshafts

Purpose-built conversion driveshafts for installing the QG18DE 70A gearbox into a Nissan Micra K11.

Designed to solve one of the key challenges when carrying out a QG18DE/70A conversion, these motorsport-grade shafts allow the larger QG18DE gearbox to be used with the K11's original hub arrangement.

The shafts combine a QG18DE inner CV joint at the gearbox end with a Nissan Micra K11 outer CV joint at the hub end, creating a purpose-built solution for the conversion.

This is the same driveshaft arrangement developed and used on our own Spicy Micra V2.5 QG18DE build.

These driveshafts are specifically intended for K11 QG conversions using the:

QG18DE 70A Gearbox

They are not simply replacement standard K11 driveshafts.

If you are using a different QG gearbox, do not assume these shafts are required or compatible.

Gearbox selection should be confirmed before ordering.

Why Are Conversion Shafts Required?

The QG18DE's 70A transmission uses a different drivetrain arrangement from the original Nissan Micra K11 gearbox.

The inner CV joint needs to match the 70A gearbox, while the outer CV joint needs to interface correctly with the K11 hub.

Our conversion shafts provide the link between the two:

QG18DE 70A Gearbox → QG18DE Inner CV → GizFab Conversion Shaft → K11 Outer CV → K11 Hub

This allows the stronger/larger QG18DE transmission to be incorporated into the K11 conversion without attempting to use a complete driveshaft from either donor vehicle.

You will need to supply the appropriate:

Associated CV boots, grease, clips, hub nuts and other service components are also not included unless specifically stated otherwise.

Inner CV Joint

The gearbox end of each conversion shaft is designed to use the appropriate QG18DE inner CV joint, allowing the shaft to interface with the 70A gearbox.

The condition and suitability of donor CV joints should be carefully inspected before assembly.

For performance and motorsport applications, we recommend using high-quality CV joints in known good condition rather than relying on heavily worn donor components.

Outer CV Joint

At the hub end, the shafts are designed to use the Nissan Micra K11 outer CV joint.

This retains compatibility with the K11 hub drive flange arrangement while allowing the QG18DE transmission to be used at the opposite end of the drivetrain.

Developed on the Spicy Micra

These shafts weren't developed purely from measurements on a bench.

The conversion arrangement was developed through our own QG-swapped K11 programme and is the driveshaft solution used on:

Spicy Micra V2.5

Our QG18DE-powered K11 development car provided us with a real-world platform to develop the components required to install the QG drivetrain into the considerably smaller K11 chassis.

Motorsport-Grade Construction

These shafts are manufactured as motorsport-grade conversion driveshafts for modified and competition vehicle applications.

They are intended for vehicles where the original K11 drivetrain configuration has been substantially altered by installation of the QG18DE 70A transmission.

As with any performance drivetrain component, overall reliability depends on the complete installation rather than the shaft alone.

CV joint condition, suspension geometry, engine position, gearbox position, vehicle ride height and available plunge must all be correct.

Professional Assembly & Installation Required

These are specialist conversion components and should be assembled and installed by somebody experienced with driveshafts and modified drivetrains.

Before operating the vehicle, the installer must verify:

⚠️ CHECK DRIVESHAFT PLUNGE

Correct driveshaft plunge is particularly important on an engine-converted vehicle.

The shaft must not bottom out within the CV joint as the suspension and drivetrain move, nor should it operate with insufficient engagement.

Engine mounting position, suspension ride height and other conversion work can affect the final driveshaft geometry.

The installer is responsible for verifying correct operation on the completed vehicle before it is driven.

Motorsport / Off-Road Use

These driveshafts are designed for modified vehicles, engine conversions and motorsport applications.

They are not standard replacement Nissan components.

The purchaser and installer are responsible for ensuring the complete drivetrain installation is suitable for the vehicle and its intended use.

12-Month Warranty*

The GizFab conversion driveshafts are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover incorrect assembly, incorrect CV joints, worn or failed CV joints, incorrect engine or gearbox positioning, insufficient or excessive driveshaft plunge, excessive CV operating angles, impact damage, accident damage, incorrect suspension geometry, modification or failure of surrounding drivetrain components.

The warranty applies to the supplied conversion shafts only and does not cover CV joints, hubs, gearboxes, bearings, labour, recovery, removal/refitting costs or consequential damage.
