One of the biggest challenges when fitting a Honda K-Series drivetrain into a K11 is getting the shifter cables routed cleanly without tight bends, excessive cable length or interference with the interior.

Combined with the Hybrid Racing underfloor shifter, these performance cables allow the gear linkage to be routed cleanly through the transmission tunnel and underneath the vehicle, creating a much neater installation while maintaining the precise shift feel expected from a properly executed K-Swap.

Designed to Complement Our Recommended K11 Underfloor Shifter

For our K11 K-Swap conversions, we recommend pairing these cables with the Hybrid Racing underfloor shifter arrangement.

Rather than mounting a conventional K-Swap shifter tower prominently on top of the K11 transmission tunnel, the underfloor arrangement positions the shifter mechanism within the factory exhaust / transmission tunnel.

This allows the shifter cables to follow a much cleaner route underneath the vehicle towards the Honda gearbox.

The result is a conversion that can retain a much more discreet, near-OEM appearance inside the cabin.

Why Cable Routing Matters

Shifter cables don't particularly like being forced through unnecessarily tight bends.

Poor routing can create additional friction and resistance within the cable, resulting in:

This reduces some of the compliance associated with the standard cable arrangement and provides a more connected mechanical feel during gear changes.

Particularly during fast shifts and demanding track use, the more substantial construction is designed to provide greater confidence in the shift mechanism.

Solid Rod Ends & Spherical Bearings

Rather than relying on excessive compliant material within the linkage, the Hybrid Racing cables incorporate solid rod ends and spherical bearings.

These help provide more precise articulation at the cable ends while reducing unwanted movement within the linkage.

The result is a tighter, more direct feeling between the shifter and gearbox.

Stainless Steel Push Rods

The cables feature stainless steel push rods, providing a durable connection at the operating ends of the cable assembly.

Stainless construction also provides excellent resistance to corrosion, particularly useful in a K11 installation where part of the cable routing may be underneath the vehicle.

Upgraded Stainless Steel Swivel Support Tubes

Hybrid Racing replaces the plastic-style support components found on applicable OEM cable arrangements with upgraded stainless steel swivel support tubes.

This removes a known weak point associated with ageing plastic components while providing a more substantial solution for demanding performance applications.

CNC-Machined 6061 Aluminium Components

The rod ends and mounting bushings are CNC machined from 6061 aluminium.

These components are then heat-treated and black anodised before being laser etched with Hybrid Racing branding.

⚠️ Select the Correct Cable Configuration

Honda K-Series gearbox and shifter arrangements vary.

The cables must be matched correctly to the gearbox and Hybrid Racing shifter configuration being used.

If you're building a K11 using our recommended underfloor shifter setup, make sure the selected cables correspond with the gearbox/shifter combination fitted to your conversion.

Do not assume all K20/K24 gearbox cables are interchangeable.

Installation

Although these are a manufactured Hybrid Racing component, installation into a Nissan Micra K11 is part of a custom K-Series engine conversion.

Cable routing should be carefully planned to avoid:
