Nissan Micra K11 BC Racing Coilovers – BR Series

The BC Racing BR Series Coilovers are one of the most popular suspension upgrades available for the Nissan Micra K11, offering adjustable ride height combined with performance-focused damping in a package suitable for everything from lowered road cars through to dedicated race builds.

We offer four different K11 configurations, allowing you to choose the setup that best matches how you actually use the car rather than simply choosing the stiffest option available.

Whether your priority is maximum lows, everyday road use, fast-road handling or dedicated circuit performance, there is a configuration to suit.

Four Configurations Available

5/4kg – EXTRA LOW

Recommended for: Maximum Lows

The option for customers whose main priority is getting their K11 LOW.

This configuration is specifically intended to provide a greater ride-height reduction than the other options available.

If maximum lows are the goal, this is the one to choose.

As with any extremely lowered vehicle, customers should expect reduced ground clearance and suspension travel, with additional attention required for tyre, driveshaft, chassis, exhaust and body clearance.

5/4kg – DAILY DRIVER

Recommended for: Road & Daily Use

Our recommended all-round configuration for a regularly driven K11.

The 5/4kg spring rates provide a useful increase in suspension control while retaining a more sensible level of ride quality for normal road use.

It still provides a decent reduction in ride height without being configured specifically around achieving the extreme lowering available from the Extra Low version.

For the majority of customers building a lowered road-going K11, this is our recommended option.

7/4kg – FAST ROAD

Recommended for: Fast-Road & Performance Use

A step up from the Daily Driver configuration for customers prepared to sacrifice some ride comfort in exchange for increased suspension control.

The higher 7kg front spring rate provides a firmer setup better suited to enthusiastic driving and performance-focused road cars.

Expect a noticeably firmer ride than the Daily Driver configuration, particularly on rough or uneven roads.

10/5kg – FULL RACE

Recommended for: Dedicated Track & Race Cars

The most aggressive configuration we offer.

With 10kg/mm front and 5kg/mm rear spring rates, this setup is intended for dedicated competition vehicles where suspension control and response take priority over road comfort.

Particularly suited to cars running semi-slick competition tyres and prepared specifically for circuit use.

We do not recommend this configuration for a normal daily-driven road car.

The spring rates are selected with competition use in mind and will result in a considerably harsher ride on typical road surfaces.

Which Setup Should I Choose?

Want it as low as possible?
Choose 5/4kg Extra Low.

Want a lowered K11 that you can comfortably use regularly?
Choose 5/4kg Daily Driver.

Building a serious fast-road car and happy to sacrifice some comfort?
Choose 7/4kg Fast Road.

Building a dedicated track/race K11 on serious tyres?
Choose 10/5kg Full Race.

Simply choosing the highest spring rate does not automatically give you the best-handling car. Spring rate should be appropriate for the vehicle's intended use, tyres, road or circuit surface and overall suspension setup.

BC Racing BR Series Damper Design

The BR Series uses a large 46mm diameter piston housed within a 53mm diameter damper body.

This larger damper body allows BC Racing to increase the volume of oil contained within the damper.

Why does that matter?

As a damper works, the movement of the piston generates heat within the damper oil. As oil temperature changes, its viscosity can also change, potentially affecting damping characteristics during prolonged or demanding use.

BC Racing combines high-quality damper oil with the larger 53mm body design to increase oil capacity and help control peak operating temperatures.

The result is designed to provide more consistent damper behaviour as the suspension is worked harder.

Height Adjustable

The BR Series allows the K11's ride height to be lowered to suit the intended setup.

The amount of lowering selected should always take into consideration more than appearance alone.

Excessive lowering can affect:

• Suspension Travel
• Driveshaft & CV Joint Angles
• Steering Geometry
• Roll Centre
• Ground Clearance
• Exhaust Clearance
• Tyre-to-Body Clearance
• Bump Steer
• Wheel Alignment

This becomes particularly important on Extra Low installations.

Professional Setup Recommended

Professional installation and suspension setup are strongly recommended.

After installation, the vehicle should receive a complete wheel alignment appropriate for its intended use.

Ride height should be established before final alignment, and the installer should check suspension, steering, driveshaft, brake hose, wheel and tyre clearances throughout the full range of steering and suspension movement.

For track and competition applications, corner weighting and a more comprehensive geometry setup may also be beneficial depending on the vehicle specification.

Maintenance

Coilovers should be inspected and cleaned regularly, particularly on vehicles used throughout the winter.

Road salt, dirt and moisture should not be allowed to accumulate around the threaded damper bodies and adjustment collars.

Regular cleaning and appropriate maintenance will help keep the height adjustment mechanisms free and serviceable.

BC Racing coilovers are supplied subject to the manufacturer's applicable warranty terms and conditions.

Normal wear, corrosion resulting from inadequate maintenance, physical impact, incorrect installation, modification, accident damage and damage caused by operating the suspension outside its intended adjustment range are not considered manufacturing defects.
