What Does a Rear Anti-Roll Bar Do?

During cornering, weight transfers towards the outside of the vehicle and the body naturally tries to roll.

An anti-roll bar links the suspension movement on the left and right sides of the vehicle, resisting the difference in suspension movement between them.

Increasing rear roll stiffness helps keep the vehicle flatter during cornering and changes the way lateral load is distributed between the front and rear tyres.

On a front-wheel-drive vehicle such as the K11, increasing rear roll stiffness can help reduce the chassis' natural tendency towards understeer, making the car feel more responsive and willing to rotate into a corner.

Choosing Your Adjustment

If you're unsure where to start, we recommend beginning with the softest setting and evaluating the vehicle before progressively increasing rear roll stiffness.

Moving to a stiffer rear setting may make the vehicle more willing to rotate, particularly during abrupt steering inputs, trail braking or lift-off situations.

The stiffest setting is not automatically the fastest or best setting.

Important Handling Notice

Increasing rear roll stiffness changes the handling characteristics of the vehicle.

At or beyond the limits of grip, a more aggressive rear anti-roll bar setting can reduce understeer and increase the tendency for the rear of the vehicle to rotate.

Drivers should familiarise themselves with the changed handling characteristics progressively and in an appropriate environment.

For track and competition vehicles, anti-roll bar adjustment should ideally form part of a complete suspension and geometry setup rather than being considered in isolation.
