Improve steering response and reduce unwanted movement in the steering rack with our 80A Shore Polyurethane Steering Rack Bushes for the Nissan Micra K11.

The factory rubber steering rack bushes are designed with comfort and vibration isolation in mind. As they age, the rubber can also soften and deteriorate, allowing additional movement between the steering rack and its mounting points.

Replacing them with firmer 80A polyurethane bushes helps locate the steering rack more positively, providing a more direct connection between steering input and the front wheels.

Improved Steering Response

The factory rubber bushes provide isolation between the steering rack and chassis, but their flexibility allows a degree of rack movement when steering loads are applied.

The firmer 80A Shore polyurethane construction reduces this movement, helping steering inputs transfer more directly through the rack.

This can provide:

As with other uprated polyurethane bushes, some additional vibration and road feedback may be transmitted through the steering system compared with the original rubber components.

Factory mounting hardware is re-used.

⚠️ IMPORTANT – SOLID BUSHES / CUTTING REQUIRED

These bushes are supplied as SOLID, UNSPLIT polyurethane bushes.

They are NOT supplied pre-cut for installation.

To install the bushes around the steering rack, the installer will need to cut through the bottom edge of each bush, allowing the bush to open sufficiently to be fitted around the rack.

This is an intentional part of the installation process and does not indicate that the bushes have been supplied incorrectly.

Care should be taken to make a clean, controlled cut in the appropriate location without unnecessarily removing material from the bush.

Installation

Professional installation is recommended, particularly as the steering system is a safety-critical part of the vehicle.

The existing steering rack mounts and factory hardware should be inspected before installation and replaced where damaged or excessively corroded.

Once installed, all mounting hardware should be correctly tightened and the steering checked throughout its complete range of movement before the vehicle is driven.

12-Month Warranty*

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

Cutting the bushes along the intended lower edge as required for installation does not invalidate the warranty.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect cutting, excessive material removal, incorrect installation, misuse, contamination, physical damage, modification beyond the required installation cut, defective steering components or damaged factory mounting hardware.

Any increase in steering feedback, vibration or road noise resulting from the firmer polyurethane construction is considered a normal characteristic of the product and not a manufacturing defect.
