Nissan Micra K11 260mm Big Brake Kit

Designed and engineered by GizFab specifically for the Nissan Micra K11, our 260mm Big Brake Kit provides a substantial upgrade over the original braking system while retaining the ability to fit beneath many 14" wheels.

The kit combines Hi-Spec billet performance calipers, 260mm brake discs, performance brake pads, braided brake hoses and our own billet-machined caliper adapters to provide a complete front brake conversion package.

With multiple disc styles and brake pad compounds available, the kit can be configured for anything from a fast-road K11 through to a dedicated track or competition car.

Hi-Spec Billet Calipers

At the heart of the conversion is a pair of Hi-Spec billet aluminium performance calipers.

Unlike conventional mass-produced cast calipers, Hi-Spec manufacture their performance calipers from high-strength 6082-T6 billet aluminium.

The lightweight, rigid caliper construction provides a performance-focused replacement for the original K11 braking hardware while remaining compact enough to make this 260mm conversion suitable for many relatively small-diameter wheels.

260mm Brake Discs

The conversion increases the front brake disc diameter to 260mm.

Increasing the effective disc radius gives the caliper greater mechanical leverage over the rotating wheel, while the larger disc also provides additional material and surface area for managing the heat generated during repeated braking.

The purpose of a big brake conversion isn't simply to make the brakes feel more aggressive.

A correctly specified braking system should provide consistent and controllable braking performance, particularly as brake temperatures increase during repeated use.

Choice of Brake Disc Styles

A selection of brake disc styles is available, allowing the kit to be configured to suit your requirements.

Depending on the options currently offered, these may include plain and various performance-pattern disc configurations.

Some disc styles are available at an additional cost.

Choice of Brake Pad Compounds

Different vehicles require very different brake pad characteristics.

A road-driven K11 needs good cold performance, predictable operation and sensible noise characteristics.

A dedicated competition vehicle may prioritise high-temperature performance and resistance to fade instead.

For this reason, the kit is available with a selection of brake pad compounds.

The standard kit includes brake pads, with alternative performance compounds available at additional cost.

Choose the pad compound appropriate for how the vehicle will actually be used.

A more aggressive race pad is not automatically better for a road car.

Some motorsport compounds require significantly more temperature to operate effectively and may produce considerably more noise and brake dust than a road-oriented compound.

Braided Brake Hoses Included

A pair of braided front brake hoses is included as part of the conversion.

These provide the appropriate connection for the upgraded calipers and complete the hydraulic side of the installation.

The entire braking system should be correctly bled with suitable fresh brake fluid following installation.

GizFab Billet Caliper Adapters

The caliper adapters have been designed and engineered by GizFab specifically for this conversion.

Each adapter is machined from billet material before receiving an anodised finish for improved corrosion resistance and a professional appearance.

The appropriate mounting hardware is supplied with the adapters.

⚠️ WHEEL CLEARANCE - PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING

This kit has been designed with compact wheel fitment in mind and is intended to fit beneath many 14" wheels.

It may also fit some aftermarket 13" wheels.

However:

WE CANNOT GUARANTEE FITMENT BASED ON WHEEL DIAMETER ALONE.

Caliper clearance is affected by much more than whether a wheel is 13", 14" or 15".

Factors include:

• Internal Wheel Barrel Diameter
• Spoke Design
• Spoke Curvature
• Wheel Offset
• Wheel Width
• Wheel Construction
• Caliper-to-Spoke Clearance

Two different 14" wheels can therefore have completely different brake clearance.

Likewise, a generously designed aftermarket 13" wheel may provide more internal clearance than another wheel of a larger nominal diameter.

Some wheel designs may require spacers to provide adequate caliper-to-spoke clearance.

Wheel clearance remains the responsibility of the installer/customer and should be confirmed before the vehicle is driven.

Designed for Compact-Wheel K11 Builds

One of the main reasons for developing the 260mm kit is to provide a meaningful brake upgrade without forcing every K11 onto substantially larger wheels.

This makes the conversion particularly attractive for cars retaining the lightweight, small-wheel philosophy that suits the K11 chassis.

For customers running larger wheels or requiring greater braking capacity for more demanding applications, larger brake conversion options may also be available.

Brake Balance

Changing the front braking system can alter the overall braking characteristics of the vehicle.

Brake performance and balance are influenced by the complete vehicle specification, including:

Customers building heavily modified or competition vehicles should consider the braking system as a complete package rather than selecting individual components in isolation.

Professional Installation Required

Brakes are a safety-critical system and professional installation by a suitably qualified technician is strongly recommended.

The installer must ensure that:

• Caliper adapters are correctly installed
• All fasteners are correctly torqued
• Brake hoses are correctly routed
• Hoses cannot contact wheels or suspension
• Calipers are correctly aligned with the discs
• Pads are correctly installed
• Wheel-to-caliper clearance is adequate
• The hydraulic system is correctly bled
• There are no brake fluid leaks
• The brake pedal is firm and operating correctly

The complete installation should be thoroughly inspected before the vehicle is driven.

Bedding-In

New brake discs and pads require an appropriate bedding-in procedure.

The exact process will depend on the brake pad compound selected.

Where the pad manufacturer provides a specific bedding procedure, their instructions should always be followed.

Repeated extreme braking on brand-new pads and discs without appropriate bedding can negatively affect braking performance and component life.

Motorsport Applications

For vehicles used on circuit or in competition, the braking system should be inspected regularly.

Brake pads and discs are consumable components and their service life will depend heavily on vehicle weight, power, tyre grip, circuit, driver and brake temperatures.

Track and race vehicles should have the braking system inspected as part of their normal pre-event and post-event maintenance.

12-Month Warranty*

GizFab-manufactured components within this kit are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

Third-party components supplied within the kit, including Hi-Spec components, are additionally subject to their respective manufacturer's applicable warranty terms and conditions.

Brake discs and brake pads are friction components and are subject to normal wear. Normal wear, incorrect bedding-in, overheating, motorsport wear, contamination, corrosion, incorrect installation, impact damage, modification, incorrect wheel clearance or damage caused by defective surrounding braking or suspension components are not considered manufacturing defects.
