Volvo 480 Adjustable Rear Torque Arms

Designed and manufactured by GizFab, our Volvo 480 Adjustable Rear Torque Arms provide increased control and adjustability of the rear suspension, particularly on lowered and modified vehicles.

Lowering the Volvo 480 changes the resting position and operating geometry of the rear suspension. Our adjustable torque arms allow their effective length to be altered, providing the ability to correctly set up the rear suspension geometry for the vehicle's modified ride height.

Supplied polyurethane bushed, fully assembled and ready for installation.

Why Fit Adjustable Rear Torque Arms?

The rear torque arms play an important role in controlling the position and movement of the rear suspension.

When the vehicle is lowered, the suspension no longer sits in exactly the same position as it did at the original factory ride height.

This can alter the resting geometry and operating angles of the suspension components.

An adjustable torque arm provides the additional adjustment required to compensate for changes in ride height and allows the rear suspension to be correctly set up for the individual vehicle.

This makes them particularly useful for:

Adjustable Design

The integrated threaded adjusters allow the effective length of the torque arms to be altered during suspension setup.

This provides considerably more flexibility than a fixed-length component when setting up a vehicle that has been lowered or otherwise modified from its original suspension specification.

The adjusters are yellow zinc plated to provide enhanced corrosion resistance against moisture, road dirt and the conditions encountered underneath the vehicle.

Once the correct adjustment has been established, all locking hardware must be securely tightened.

Polyurethane Bushed

Our adjustable torque arms are supplied with polyurethane bushes.

Compared with conventional soft or deteriorated rubber bushes, polyurethane provides more positive suspension location by reducing unwanted compliance within the mounting points.

This can provide a more direct and controlled response from the rear suspension, particularly when combined with uprated springs, dampers and tyres.

As with most uprated suspension bushes, some additional noise, vibration or harshness may be noticeable compared with standard rubber components.

Dark Grey Metallic Powder-Coated Finish

The torque arms are finished in our signature dark grey metallic powder coat, providing a durable and professional finish while helping protect the steel components from the underbody environment.

As with any adjustable suspension component, periodic cleaning, lubrication where appropriate and inspection are recommended.

Any damage to the protective coating should be addressed to help prevent corrosion of the exposed material underneath.

Supplied Assembled & Ready for Fitting

The torque arms are supplied fully assembled and ready for installation.

Final adjustment must still be carried out on the individual vehicle to suit its ride height and suspension configuration.

Professional Installation & Geometry Setup Recommended

These components should be installed and adjusted by a suitably qualified technician.

Adjustable suspension components should not simply be set to an arbitrary length.

The vehicle should be positioned at its intended final ride height and the rear suspension geometry measured before the torque arms are adjusted.

Once adjustment is complete:

• Ensure Adequate Thread Engagement is Maintained
• Correctly Tighten All Locking Hardware
• Check Suspension & Tyre Clearances
• Check for Interference Throughout Suspension Travel
• Carry Out a Rear Suspension Geometry Check
• Recheck All Fasteners After a Short Period of Use

Correct setup is particularly important where multiple adjustable rear suspension components are fitted.

12-Month Warranty*

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover normal bush wear, cosmetic deterioration, corrosion resulting from coating damage or inadequate maintenance, damaged or seized adjustment threads, incorrect installation or adjustment, insufficient thread engagement, modification, accident or impact damage, misuse or damage resulting from defective or damaged surrounding chassis or suspension components.
