Tube Holding Cutting Fixtures

The GizFab Tube Holding Cutting Fixtures are a simple, cost-effective solution for securely holding round tubing in a bandsaw vice while helping reduce the risk of crushing, marking or deforming the tube.

Designed and 3D printed in-house by GizFab, the fixtures provide a larger, more supportive contact area around the tube than conventional flat vice jaws.

They're particularly useful when working with thin-wall stainless steel, Inconel and titanium tubing, where excessive or uneven clamping pressure can easily distort expensive material before you've even made the first cut.

Stop Crushing Thin-Wall Tube

Holding thin-wall tubing securely in a conventional bandsaw vice can be awkward.

The vice needs enough pressure to prevent the tube from rotating or moving during the cut, but applying that pressure through conventional flat jaws concentrates the load onto relatively small areas of the tube.

With thinner-wall material, this can result in:

• Damaged or Scrapped Material
• Poor Fitment During Fabrication

Our holding fixtures are shaped around the outside diameter of the tube, increasing the supported contact area and helping distribute the clamping force more evenly.

This allows the tube to be held securely using less concentrated pressure.

Stainless Steel Hardware

The fixtures are supplied with stainless steel hardware, providing a durable and corrosion-resistant solution suitable for regular workshop use.

3D Printed In-House

Each fixture is 3D printed in-house by GizFab.

3D printing allows us to produce application-specific workshop tooling at a fraction of the cost associated with conventional machined fixtures.

These are functional workshop tools, so visible layer lines and minor cosmetic variations associated with the 3D-printing process are completely normal and do not affect their intended operation.

⚠️ DO NOT OVER-CLAMP

These fixtures are designed to help support the tube and distribute the load from the bandsaw vice.

They do not make thin-wall tubing impossible to crush.

The vice should only be tightened sufficiently to prevent the tube and fixture from moving during the cutting operation.

Excessive vice pressure can still deform the tube and may also damage the 3D-printed fixture.

Correct clamping pressure will vary depending on:

• Tube Diameter
• Wall Thickness
• Tube Material
• Bandsaw Setup
• Cutting Speed
• Blade Condition

Always use the minimum clamping force necessary to securely hold the workpiece.

Workshop Safety

This product is a work-holding aid only and does not replace correct machine operation, guarding or appropriate PPE.

Before cutting, always ensure:

• The Correct Fixture Size is Being Used
• The Tube is Fully & Correctly Seated
• The Fixture is Secure in the Vice
• The Tube Cannot Rotate or Move
• The Fixture Has Not Been Excessively Clamped
• The Bandsaw Blade Has Adequate Clearance
• Machine Guards are Correctly Positioned
• Appropriate PPE is Used

Always verify the position and security of the workpiece before starting the cutting operation.

12-Month Warranty*

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

As these are functional 3D-printed workshop tools, the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic deterioration, cutting or blade damage, heat damage, excessive clamping force, crushing, modification, incorrect use or accidental damage.

The fixture is designed to reduce the likelihood of tube deformation during clamping but cannot guarantee that tubing will not deform. Correct fixture selection, machine setup and clamping pressure remain the responsibility of the operator.
