Toyota Century Adjustable Panhard Rod

Designed and manufactured by GizFab, our Toyota Century Adjustable Panhard Rod allows the rear axle to be correctly re-centred after lowering the vehicle.

Lowering a vehicle fitted with a fixed-length Panhard rod changes the resting angle of the rod. Because the Panhard rod travels through an arc as the suspension moves, reducing the ride height can cause the complete rear axle to shift laterally towards one side of the vehicle.

Our adjustable design allows the effective length of the Panhard rod to be altered, enabling the rear axle position to be corrected for the vehicle's new ride height.

Why Does Lowering Cause Axle Shift?

The Panhard rod is responsible for locating the rear axle laterally underneath the vehicle.

One end of the rod is attached to the chassis and the other to the axle. As the suspension moves vertically, the rod pivots through an arc rather than travelling directly up and down.

At the original ride height, the factory fixed-length Panhard rod is designed around the standard suspension position.

When the vehicle is lowered, the resting position and angle of the rod change. This can pull the complete rear axle towards one side of the vehicle.

The further the suspension is moved away from its original ride height, the more noticeable this displacement can become.

Correct Your Rear Axle Position

An adjustable Panhard rod allows its effective length to be changed until the rear axle is correctly positioned underneath the chassis at the vehicle's new ride height.

An incorrectly centred rear axle can result in:

• Unequal Wheel-to-Arch Position
• Reduced Tyre Clearance on One Side
• Increased Risk of Tyre-to-Body Contact
• Unequal Suspension Clearance
• Visibly Offset Rear Wheel Position
• Compromised Rear Suspension Geometry

This becomes particularly important on lowered vehicles running wider wheels and tyres or more aggressive wheel fitment, where available clearance may already be limited.

Adjustable Design

The integrated threaded adjustment allows the effective length of the Panhard rod to be altered to suit the vehicle's actual ride height.

Once the vehicle has been lowered and the suspension has settled, the rod can be adjusted until the rear axle is correctly centred underneath the vehicle.

Once correctly positioned, all adjustment and locking hardware must be securely tightened.

Dark Grey Metallic Powder-Coated Finish

Each Panhard rod is finished in our signature dark grey metallic powder coat, providing a durable and professional finish while helping protect the component from the conditions encountered underneath the vehicle.

As with any underbody suspension component, periodic cleaning and inspection are recommended.

Any damage to the powder coating should be addressed to help prevent corrosion of the exposed material underneath.

Professional Installation & Adjustment Required

This product should be installed and adjusted by a suitably qualified technician.

The vehicle should first be set to its final intended ride height and the suspension allowed to settle before the Panhard rod is adjusted.

The rear axle position should then be measured using appropriate chassis reference points.

The rod can then be adjusted until the axle is correctly centred underneath the vehicle.

It should not simply be adjusted based on how far the wheels protrude from the arches, as differences in wheel offset, bodywork and vehicle tolerances can give misleading measurements.

Once adjustment is complete, all mounting and locking hardware must be correctly tightened and the installation inspected again after the vehicle has covered a short distance.

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic deterioration, corrosion resulting from coating damage or inadequate maintenance, damaged or seized adjustment threads, incorrect installation or adjustment, modification, accident or impact damage, misuse or damage resulting from defective or damaged surrounding chassis or suspension components.
