7.5° Pie Cut Bandsaw Fixture

Designed to make producing consistent exhaust and fabrication pie cuts quicker, easier and repeatable.

Our Pie Cut Fixture produces a 7.5° cut, allowing two cut sections to form a 15° pie. Six 15° pie sections can therefore be used to create a 90° bend.

The fixture has been designed around real workshop use, with features that allow the tubing to be rotated without completely removing the fixture from the bandsaw, a blade guide for repeatable positioning, and even a sacrificial blade stop for those moments when you get distracted and forget what's sitting in the saw...

7.5° Cut / 15° Pie

The fixture positions the tubing to produce a 7.5° cut.

When the resulting sections are rotated and joined together, this creates a 15° change in direction per pie section.

As a guide:

1 Pie = 15°
2 Pies = 30°
3 Pies = 45°
4 Pies = 60°
6 Pies = 90°

This makes it straightforward to plan and manufacture consistent pie-cut bends for exhaust systems, intercooler pipework, intake systems and general fabrication.

Designed for Repeatability

One of the main considerations when designing the fixture was being able to remove or adjust it without having to completely re-establish its position every time.

The lower section of the fixture remains clamped securely within the bandsaw.

The upper section can then be loosened to allow the tubing to be rotated for the next cut, or removed where required, while leaving the lower portion of the fixture in situ.

This makes repetitive cutting considerably quicker and reduces the amount of setup required between cuts.

Blade Guide Stop

The fixture incorporates a blade guide reference to help maintain the correct blade offset.

This allows the fixture to be removed and subsequently repositioned against the guide, helping maintain consistent positioning and improve repeatability between batches.

The "I Forgot About the Fixture" Blade Stop

We've all done it.

You start the bandsaw, get distracted by something else in the workshop and suddenly remember that there's an expensive fixture sitting directly in the path of the blade.

For that reason, we've incorporated a recess designed to accept a piece of 10mm round bar as a sacrificial blade stop.

If the bandsaw is accidentally allowed to travel too far, the blade reaches the replaceable round bar before cutting directly into the main body of the fixture.

The idea is simple: give the bandsaw something else to chew on for a moment while you realise your mistake and save the fixture from being cut in half.

It's not a substitute for paying attention to the machine, but it might just save your fixture when inevitably somebody doesn't.

Bandsaw Compatibility

This is a universal fabrication fixture and bandsaw designs can vary considerably.

Before purchasing, please ensure that your bandsaw has sufficient vice capacity, blade clearance and working area to accommodate the fixture and the diameter of tubing you intend to cut.

Final cutting accuracy will also depend on the condition and setup of the bandsaw, including blade condition, blade tension, machine rigidity and operator setup.

This fixture is intended for use with powered workshop machinery and should only be used by persons familiar with the safe operation of their bandsaw.

Always ensure the fixture and workpiece are securely clamped before cutting.

The sacrificial blade stop is intended as additional protection for the fixture only and should not be treated as a machine safety device or relied upon to stop the bandsaw.

Always follow the bandsaw manufacturer's operating and safety instructions.

12-Month Warranty*

This product is warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental bandsaw or blade contact, physical damage, misuse, incorrect setup, modification, damage caused by inadequate clamping or damage resulting from use outside the intended application.

Sacrificial components, including any 10mm round bar used as the blade stop, are considered consumable items and are not covered by the warranty.
