Complete 4-Piece Front Wishbone Bush Set
This kit contains 4 uprated rubber bushes, providing the replacement wishbone bushes for both sides of the front suspension.
Replacing the bushes as a complete set helps ensure both front lower control arms are operating with components of the same condition and specification.
What's Included?
- 4x Uprated Rubber Front Wishbone / Lower Control Arm Bushes
Supplied as one complete vehicle set.
Wishbones, ball joints and mounting hardware are not included unless specifically stated.
Why Replace the Original Wishbone Bushes?
The front wishbone bushes locate the lower control arms while allowing the controlled movement required as the suspension travels.
They are subjected to considerable loads during:
- Braking
- Acceleration
- Cornering
- Steering Inputs
- Uneven Road Surfaces
As the original rubber deteriorates, the wishbone can move more than intended relative to the chassis.
Worn bushes may become:
- Cracked
- Perished
- Torn
- Excessively Soft
- Separated from their Sleeves
- Excessively Compliant
Depending on their condition, this can contribute to vague steering, unwanted suspension movement, knocking and inconsistent wheel alignment under load.
Uprated Rubber Construction
These bushes use an uprated rubber construction, providing firmer suspension location while retaining the compliance of a conventional rubber-bushed suspension system.
This makes them a good middle ground for customers wanting improved suspension response without moving to more aggressive solid or spherical-bearing suspension components.
They're particularly well suited to:
- Daily Drivers
- Fast-Road K13s
- Lowered Vehicles
- Performance Builds
- Suspension Restorations
- Occasional Track Use
Some additional suspension feedback may be noticeable compared with soft or heavily worn original bushes.
Useful Upgrade for Lowered K13s
Lowering the vehicle and fitting performance tyres can increase the loads transmitted through the front suspension bushes.
Reducing unwanted movement at the wishbone mounting points can help maintain more consistent suspension geometry as the vehicle accelerates, brakes and corners.
These bushes work particularly well as part of a wider suspension refresh alongside components such as:
- Coilovers or Lowering Springs
- Uprated Dampers
- Adjustable Anti-Roll Bar Links
- Anti-Roll Bar Components
- Chassis Bracing
- Performance Tyres
- Correct Wheel Alignment
Installation
Front wishbone bushes are safety-critical suspension components and professional installation is recommended.
Removal of the original bushes and installation of the replacements may require suitable pressing or specialist bush installation equipment.
During installation, inspect:
- Front Wishbones / Lower Control Arms
- Ball Joints
- Mounting Bolts
- Chassis / Subframe Mounting Points
- Bush Housings
- Anti-Roll Bar Components
- Steering Components
- Surrounding Suspension Components
Any significant corrosion, cracking, deformation or damage should be addressed before the vehicle is returned to use.
Correct Bush Orientation
The bushes must be installed in the correct orientation where applicable.
Where the bush design requires final tightening with the suspension at its normal operating ride height, the appropriate procedure should be followed to prevent unnecessary preload being introduced into the rubber.
Wheel Alignment Recommended
Following replacement of the front wishbone bushes, we strongly recommend carrying out a professional wheel alignment.
Replacing worn bushes can alter the resting position of the suspension compared with the previous deteriorated components, so alignment should be checked before returning the vehicle to normal use.
