Complete 280mm Brake Conversion

The kit includes the main components required to upgrade the K12 front braking system to our 280mm Hi-Spec arrangement.

The larger disc diameter provides increased braking leverage and greater thermal capacity, particularly useful during repeated heavy braking where managing heat becomes increasingly important.

This makes the kit particularly suitable for:

Actual braking performance will depend on the complete vehicle setup, including tyres, brake pad compound, fluid, suspension and available grip.

Hi-Spec Billet Calipers

The kit uses a pair of Hi-Spec billet brake calipers, mounted using our own application-specific GizFab adapters.

This provides a substantial brake upgrade while retaining a compact package suitable for the wheel sizes commonly used on modified K12s.

GizFab Billet Caliper Adapters

The caliper adapters have been designed specifically to correctly position the Hi-Spec calipers around the 280mm brake discs on the K12.

Each adapter is:

⚠️ Wheel Clearance

The kit is designed to fit beneath suitable 15" wheels.

We have also confirmed fitment with many 14" wheels.

However, wheel diameter alone does not guarantee caliper clearance.

Clearance also depends on:

• Internal Wheel Barrel
• Spoke Design
• Spoke Profile
• Wheel Width
• Wheel Offset
• Caliper-to-Spoke Clearance

Some wheels may require a spacer to provide adequate caliper clearance.

We cannot guarantee compatibility with every 14" or 15" wheel.

If clearance is uncertain, the wheel should be checked before installation.

Choice of Brake Disc Styles

A pair of 280mm brake discs is included as standard, with a selection of alternative disc styles available at additional cost.

This allows the brake package to be tailored to the appearance and intended use of the vehicle.

Choice of Brake Pad Compounds

A set of brake pads is also included, with alternative compounds available at additional cost.

Road-focused compounds typically prioritise good cold performance, progressive response and lower noise.

More track-focused compounds may provide improved performance at elevated temperatures and greater resistance to fade during repeated heavy braking, but can also produce additional noise, dust and disc wear.

Choose the pad compound based on how the vehicle will actually be used.

Braided Brake Hoses Included

The kit includes the required braided brake hoses and associated fittings.

Braided hoses help reduce expansion under hydraulic pressure compared with conventional rubber hoses, providing a more consistent and direct pedal response.

Correct hose routing must be confirmed throughout the complete steering and suspension range.

Big Brakes Still Need Good Tyres

A larger brake package can provide increased thermal capacity and improved resistance to fade, but the brakes can only use the grip available from the tyres.

Overall braking performance will still depend on:

• Tyre Compound & Condition
• Road / Track Surface
• Brake Pad Compound
• Brake Fluid
• Suspension Setup
• Vehicle Weight
• Brake Balance

A big brake kit should therefore be considered as part of the complete vehicle setup rather than as a guaranteed reduction in stopping distance.

Professional Installation Required

Braking components are safety-critical and professional installation is strongly recommended.

During installation, check:

• Brake Lines & Hoses
• Brake Fluid
• Rear Braking System
• Wheel Studs & Hardware
• Wheel-to-Caliper Clearance

The hydraulic system must be correctly bled and all mounting hardware correctly torqued before the vehicle is returned to use.

Bedding-In

New brake discs and pads require an appropriate bedding procedure.

The exact process will depend on the pad compound selected, so the applicable manufacturer's bedding instructions should be followed.

GizFab Motorsport Developments manufactured components within this kit are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

Hi-Spec calipers and other third-party manufactured components remain subject to their respective manufacturer's applicable warranty terms.

Brake discs and pads are consumable friction components and normal wear is not considered a manufacturing defect.

The warranty does not cover incorrect installation, accident or impact damage, incorrect bedding, unsuitable brake fluid, defective surrounding braking components, wheel-to-caliper contact or damage caused by incorrect setup.
