Dynamic Pro Sport Series

Yellow Speed Racing developed the Dynamic Pro Sport range for enthusiasts wanting significantly greater suspension control and adjustability while maintaining a setup that remains usable on the road.

Rather than being an uncompromising competition-only coilover, the Dynamic Pro Sport is intended to provide a balance between:

• Handling
• Body Control
• Steering Response
• Ride Quality

• Road Usability

This makes it particularly well suited to modified Micras that are still regularly driven on the road but may also see occasional track use.

5kg/mm Front & 3kg/mm Rear Spring Rates

This application is supplied with:

Front: 5kg/mm
Rear: 3kg/mm

These spring rates provide a firmer, more controlled suspension setup than the original factory suspension while retaining a specification intended for road and fast-road use.

Expect a more direct and performance-focused ride compared with the original suspension.

33-Way Adjustable Damping

One of the main advantages of the Dynamic Pro Sport kit is its 33-way adjustable damping.

This allows the damping characteristics to be fine-tuned to suit the vehicle, road conditions and driver's preference.

The adjustment range can be used to tailor the suspension towards:

A softer setting can provide greater compliance for road use, while firmer settings can provide additional body control for smoother roads and circuit use.

⚠️ Firmer Isn't Automatically Faster

Simply turning the dampers to their stiffest setting does not necessarily improve handling.

If the suspension is excessively stiff for the road surface or tyre being used, the tyre may have greater difficulty maintaining consistent contact with the road.

Suspension setup should be based on how the vehicle behaves rather than simply selecting the maximum setting.

Aluminium Pillowball Front Upper Mounts

The front coilovers are supplied with aluminium pillowball upper mounts.

Compared with a conventional compliant rubber top mount, a pillowball arrangement reduces movement at the upper damper mounting point and can provide a more direct connection between the suspension and chassis.

This can contribute to:

The trade-off is increased transmission of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) into the vehicle compared with a conventional rubber mounting arrangement.

This is a normal characteristic of performance pillowball suspension components.

Rear Top Mounts

Rear Top Mount: N/A

The rear arrangement does not include a Yellow Speed Racing replacement top mount for this application.

The appropriate existing/OEM mounting arrangement is therefore retained where required.

Given the age of many Micras, we strongly recommend inspecting the original rear mounting components during installation and replacing anything worn, damaged or heavily corroded.

Adjustable Ride Height

Dynamic Pro Sport coilovers provide adjustable vehicle ride height.

Yellow Speed Racing states that the Dynamic Pro Sport range can provide approximately 50mm-100mm of ride-height adjustment depending on application.

Actual Adjustment Range Varies by Vehicle

The quoted 50-100mm range applies to the wider Dynamic Pro Sport range and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed lowering range for every Micra application.

Actual achievable ride height depends on:

Lower Isn't Always Better

The ability to substantially lower a vehicle doesn't necessarily mean the lowest possible setting will provide the best handling.

Excessive lowering can cause:

• Reduced Suspension Travel
• Bottoming Out
• Unfavourable Suspension Geometry
• Increased Bump Steer
• Driveshaft Angle Issues
• Tyre-to-Body Contact
• Increased Tyre Wear
• Reduced Ground Clearance

The suspension should be adjusted to provide an appropriate balance between ride height, available travel and suspension geometry.

Professional Installation & Alignment Recommended

Coilovers are a major suspension modification and should be installed by a suitably experienced technician.

Following installation, the vehicle should receive a professional four-wheel alignment.

The installer should check:

• Brake Hose Routing
• ABS Wiring where applicable

Maintenance

Performance coilovers operate in one of the harshest environments on the vehicle and are continually exposed to:

Regular cleaning and inspection are recommended, particularly on vehicles used throughout winter.
