THIS KIT IS DESIGNED FOR VEHICLES THAT DO NOT ALREADY HAVE A HARNESS TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT.

A dedicated wiring harness is included with this kit which is designed to prevent the airbag warning light remaining illuminated following removal of the original airbag steering wheel, when correctly installed on the intended application.

If your vehicle already has the required airbag-light cancellation harness or arrangement, please check whether you require the alternative boss kit before ordering.

HKB boss kits provide the interface between the vehicle's steering column and a wide range of popular aftermarket steering wheels.

Double-Drilled Bolt Pattern

HKB boss kits feature a double-drilled mounting pattern, providing compatibility with the two commonly used aftermarket steering wheel bolt patterns.

This allows fitment of many steering wheels from manufacturers including:

Compatibility should still be checked against the exact steering wheel being installed before ordering.

Airbag Warning Light Harness Included

Removing a factory airbag steering wheel can cause the vehicle's SRS / airbag warning system to detect a fault and illuminate the dashboard warning light.

This version of the kit includes the appropriate airbag light cancellation harness for the intended application.

⚠️ THIS DOES NOT RETAIN THE DRIVER AIRBAG

The included harness is intended to address the electrical warning generated when the original airbag steering wheel is removed.

It does not replace the airbag, recreate its safety function or make an aftermarket steering wheel equivalent to the original SRS-equipped steering wheel.

Removing the factory steering wheel permanently removes the driver's steering-wheel airbag unless the vehicle is subsequently returned to its original configuration.

Horn Operation

The HKB boss arrangement is designed to provide the appropriate connection for horn operation on compatible applications.

Installation should be checked before the vehicle is returned to use to ensure the horn operates correctly.

Indicator Self-Cancelling

Where supported by the vehicle application, the boss is designed to retain the indicator self-cancelling function.

Correct installation and orientation of the boss are important for this feature to operate correctly.

Model-Specific Fitment

HKB boss kits are application-specific.

The correct boss must therefore be selected for the exact vehicle rather than choosing one solely based on steering wheel bolt pattern.

Depending on the vehicle, model-specific HKB boss kits may also make provision for other original steering-wheel-related functions.

Not every factory steering wheel function is retained on every vehicle.

Replacing an original airbag-equipped steering wheel with an aftermarket steering wheel removes a factory-installed occupant safety system.

The airbag cancellation harness prevents the applicable warning circuit from detecting the removed steering-wheel airbag. It does not provide any equivalent occupant protection.

Removal of an airbag or other SRS component may also affect:

Requirements vary by vehicle and jurisdiction.

Professional Installation Recommended

Steering and SRS components are safety-critical.

Installation should be carried out by somebody suitably experienced with steering systems and automotive SRS equipment.

The vehicle battery should be disconnected and the appropriate manufacturer procedure followed before working on any airbag or SRS component.

After installation, verify:

• Steering Wheel is Correctly Centred
• Boss is Fully Engaged
• Fasteners are Correctly Tightened
• Horn Operates Correctly
• Indicators Self-Cancel Correctly where applicable
• Steering Rotates Freely from Lock to Lock
• No Wiring is Stretched or Trapped
• Airbag Warning Circuit Operates as Intended
• No Unrelated SRS Faults are Present

This is a genuine HKB manufactured component and is supplied subject to the manufacturer's applicable warranty terms and conditions.

The warranty does not cover incorrect installation, use on an incompatible vehicle, modification, damaged steering-column components, incorrect SRS wiring or damage caused by removal or installation of the original steering wheel.
