The kit has been designed primarily around 15" wheels, although we have confirmed fitment with many 14" wheel designs.

Complete 280mm Front Brake Conversion

Rather than simply fitting a larger brake disc, the GizFab kit has been developed as a complete front brake package.

The kit includes:

Everything is designed to work together as a complete conversion rather than requiring the customer to piece together unrelated components.

280mm Brake Discs

The substantial increase in disc diameter provides the upgraded calipers with a larger braking surface and moves the braking force further away from the centre of the hub.

The larger disc also provides greater thermal capacity than the considerably smaller original K11 braking arrangement, which can be particularly beneficial during repeated heavy braking.

Actual braking performance will depend on the complete vehicle, including tyres, pad compound, brake fluid, suspension, vehicle weight and road or track conditions.

Hi-Spec Billet Brake Calipers

The kit uses a pair of Hi-Spec billet brake calipers.

These provide the foundation of the upgraded braking system while keeping the package compact enough to work with the wheel sizes commonly fitted to modified K11s.

The calipers are mounted using our own purpose-designed adapters, allowing the complete assembly to be correctly positioned around the 280mm brake discs.

GizFab Billet Caliper Adapters

The caliper adapters have been designed and engineered by GizFab specifically for the K11 application.

Each adapter is:

These adapters provide the critical interface between the K11 hub assembly and the Hi-Spec brake caliper.

⚠️ Wheel Clearance - Please Read

The kit has been designed to fit underneath suitable 15" wheels.

We have also confirmed that the kit will fit underneath many 14" aftermarket wheels.

However:

WHEEL DIAMETER ALONE DOES NOT GUARANTEE CALIPER CLEARANCE.

Two different 14" or 15" wheels can provide completely different brake clearance.

Compatibility depends on factors including:

• Internal Wheel Barrel Diameter
• Spoke Design
• Spoke Profile
• Wheel Width
• Wheel Offset
• Caliper-to-Spoke Clearance
• Wheel Casting / Forging Design

Some wheels may require a spacer to provide sufficient spoke-to-caliper clearance.

We cannot guarantee that every 14" or 15" wheel will clear this brake kit.

If wheel clearance is critical, it should be checked before installation.

Choice of Brake Disc Styles

The kit is supplied with a pair of 280mm brake discs, with a selection of disc styles available at additional cost.

Depending on the options available at the time of ordering, customers can select a disc specification to suit the appearance and intended use of the vehicle.

Different disc patterns should primarily be selected around the intended application and customer preference rather than assuming the most aggressive-looking option automatically provides the best braking performance.

Choice of Brake Pad Compounds

A set of brake pads is included with the kit, with alternative compounds available at additional cost.

Pad choice can have a significant effect on the behaviour of the braking system.

A road-focused compound will generally prioritise characteristics such as:

• Cold Bite
• Low Noise
• Progressive Pedal Feel
• Everyday Usability

A more track-focused compound may prioritise:

• High-Temperature Performance
• Fade Resistance
• Repeated Heavy Braking

but may produce additional noise, dust and disc wear and may require more temperature before reaching its intended operating characteristics.

Choose the pad compound based on how the car will actually be used.

Braided Brake Hoses Included

The kit includes the required braided brake hoses and associated fittings for the conversion.

Braided hoses help reduce hose expansion under hydraulic pressure compared with ageing conventional rubber hoses, helping provide a more consistent and direct pedal response.

They should be routed carefully during installation to ensure they cannot contact:

• Wheels
• Tyres
• Driveshafts
• Suspension Components
• Steering Components

Clearance should be checked throughout the complete steering and suspension range.

Big Brakes Don't Replace Good Tyres

A larger braking system can provide improved thermal capacity and greater resistance to fade, particularly during repeated braking.

However, the brakes can only use the grip available from the tyres.

The final braking performance of the vehicle will still depend heavily on:

• Tyre Compound
• Tyre Condition
• Road Surface
• Suspension Setup
• Vehicle Weight
• Brake Balance
• Brake Fluid
• Pad Compound
• Driver Input

A big brake kit should therefore be considered as part of the complete vehicle setup.

Professional Installation Required

Braking components are safety-critical and this kit should be installed by a suitably qualified or experienced professional.

During installation, the complete braking system should be inspected, including:

• Hubs & Wheel Bearings
• Brake Master Cylinder
• Rear Brakes
• Brake Fluid
• Hard Brake Lines
• Flexible Hoses
• Caliper Mounting Points
• Wheel Studs & Hardware
• Tyres

All mounting hardware must be correctly torqued and the hydraulic system thoroughly bled.

Bedding-In

New brake discs and pads require an appropriate bedding procedure before maximum braking performance is expected.

The correct procedure will depend on the pad compound selected.

Avoid immediately subjecting brand-new discs and pads to repeated maximum-effort stops unless specifically required by the pad manufacturer's bedding procedure.

12-Month Warranty*

GizFab Motorsport Developments manufactured components within this kit are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from purchase.

Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, where inspection confirms a manufacturing or material defect.

Hi-Spec calipers and other third-party manufactured components remain subject to their respective manufacturer's applicable warranty terms.

Brake discs and pads are friction components and will naturally wear during use. Normal friction material wear, heat checking within acceptable limits, pad wear and other consumable deterioration are not manufacturing defects.

Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, accident or impact damage, motorsport accident damage, incorrect bedding, unsuitable brake fluid, seized or defective surrounding braking components, wheel-to-caliper contact, excessive heat caused by incorrect setup or use outside the intended specification.
